Bit Torrent Mac Guide

Installation

To begin downloading BitTorrent please go to the ‘other file sharing programs’ link on the left side of your homepage. Then select ‘if you are a mac user please click here’.

 

Select ‘Click Here to Download Now’. The file should begin downloading when this mini window appears.

 

Once it is done downloading, the following window should appear. If not then manually open your finder folder.

 

Select the three icons in the BitTorrent section and drag them into your application folder…

 

Then, after they have been put into your application folder, go back to your desktop.

 

Choose Eject to remove the temporary BitTorrent icon from your desktop. You can now start the BitTorrent program by double-clicking on its icon in the ‘applications’ folder in your ‘finder’ window.

 

To begin downloading files, once BitTorrent is open, open your Safari program to search for the files on the networks.

 

Go the www.mininova.org and type the name of the file you are looking for in the search box. This will give you results after you press enter. Choose files with higher ‘seeds’ numbers, this will give you faster downloads.

 

After you have selected a file, it will begin downloading to your desktop. When it is done, you need to click on the file on your desktop and drag it into the BitTorrent program.

 

When you drag the files into BitTorrent, they will automatically begin downloading. Once they are finished you can play any of them by double-clicking on them.

You can now fully enjoy downloading with BitTorrent. IF you would like to search with another network please continue reading on.

Go to the ‘Safari’ program and go the www.isohunt.com

 

You can type the name of the file you are looking for in the search box and the press enter. Click on one of the results as shown below…

 

Click once on the ‘Download .torrent’ link to download the file to your desktop. The mini download window will appear. When it is done, the file will be on your desktop…

Drag the icon off of your desktop into the BitTorrent program as shown earlier and it will automatically begin downloading.
