Q.
"ERROR, please check your disk and read/write permissions"?
A.
This is a bug caused by the installer, it is east to fix.

Exit iMesh Light
Go to the dir where your Download Dir is stored. (ex. c:/my downloads)
Look for a file/dir named your name for you download dir. The file that you are looking for has no a extension and isnt a dir. So just search for the name. (ex. my downloads)
Remove it
Make a new dir named as the deleted one.
Start iMeshLite

OR

Fix your error by right clicking on the download file and hitting properties and uncheck read only, it will work! (There should be some .dat files in your shared folder. they're named like download10203829238.dat (not those exact numbers but you get the idea.) right click those and click properties. then uncheck the read-only box and it should work.) This is a way to solve the problem.


Q.
Firewall/Proxy server setting problems?
A.
Kindly follow the instructions below in order to connect bypass firewall or proxy server settings so that you can download programs from the site.

Option A
If you're behind proxy: Go to "Preferences->Options->Connection" in the iMesh Toolbar and enter your proxy address (if address is too big, enter proxys IP address. To check your proxy IP address, go to "Start->Run" in Windows, write "command" and press OK. Then write: "ping 'your proxy address " in the opened window. The IP address is a number in the format xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx)
 
Option B
If you are behind a firewall: ask your system administrator to permit outgoing connections to port 1214 to all destinations.

Virus related problems?
A.
Regarding virus related problem you are facing: iMesh respects users privacy and does not track what users put in their shared folders. The only way to prevent this is to use an antivirus. You can define your antivirus program in iMesh by: adding the antivirus to "Preferences->Options->Security" in the iMesh Toolbar and iMesh will then scan all files downloaded.

Q.
How do I disable my sharing on I-Meshlite?
A.
Please follow the followin steps to disable file sharing on Imesh.

1. On the Preferences menu, click Options. The Options window opens.
2. In the security list, click disable Sharing.

Q.
IMesh Light annnounces it has completed some downloads ... yet when I try to locate them on my hard drive, they are nowhere to be found. I've looked in the directory I specified for downloads & in c:\My Downloads. I've also used Windows search using all possible parameters

It's something wrong with the installer. go to where your download folder should be and you'll see a file with the same name as your folder (your folder won't be there.) delete that file and make a new folder for your downloads and they'll work from now on.
